Women make up 48% of Quebec’s population, yet the percentage of women in the road transportation industry is only 20% and only 1% in the heavy road vehicle mechanics sector.
However, in a traditionally male environment, getting access to information is a considerable barrier to women wishing to find out more about job security, job placement rates and working conditions.
There are not many women in the occupations of truck driver, bus driver or heavy road vehicle mechanic. As a result, there are few suitable places for women to interact with each other.
To help you share your experiences, the CFTR has set up a private Facebook group. This community, La Place des Femmes, gives you an opportunity to share information, ask questions, raise your concerns and help one another.
At the CFTR, you have YOUR place where you can achieve YOUR objectives and fulfil YOUR dream of becoming a truck driver, bus driver or mechanic.
